I personally want to thank our faculty and staff, parents, and community/business partners for the part they are playing in our students’ education and ask for their continued support and encouragement. Kerr students have received and continue to receive so many outstanding recognitions for excellence. These accolades would not be possible without this support network which truly challenges our students to ‘Be the difference that makes a difference!’
Parents, I hope each of you will be proactive in contacting teachers and staff to solicit information concerning your student’s progress and to understand the what, why and how of any given course. Get to know your student’s counselor and advisor in order to establish a line of communication with the school. Visit our webpage regularly to stay abreast of all the exciting things happening at Kerr and most importantly, talk to your student about his or her experiences here at Kerr.
When I met with each class at the beginning of school, I asked them a simple question that to me can make a difference in their approach to daily life and their education “What is your destination?” I want every student to think about where they want to be after graduation and if the path they are on today will lead them there. Successfully arriving at our destination is all about making the right choices along the way. If we don’t know where we want to be in the future, it is difficult to make the right decisions and choices today. With your help, we can provide a safe and solid pathway for our students on the journey through high school that will ultimately lead them to their chosen destination.
