Dress Code: 

• You must follow all dress code regulations as set forth below. If you arrive dressed inappropriately, you may not be allowed to take part in the ceremony. 

• Bottoms – school appropriate pants, dresses or skirts. 

• Tops – dress shirt, polo or blouse. 

• Dress shoes – ensure you will be comfortable on risers, down long hallways, and across the stage. 

• Graduates will not be allowed to carry anything in their hands during the ceremony. Leave cameras, purses, etc. at home, in the car, or with family members. 

• Students may not alter their cap and gown in any way (no decorations on your cap). 

Cameras: 

• Video cameras on tripods are not allowed. Family and friends must stay seated in the auditorium for the entirety of the ceremony. The ceremony is being recorded and will be posted after the event. 

• No one will be allowed along the walkway as this is against city fire codes. The City of Houston fire marshals will be present to enforce these codes. 

Information and Seating for parents/guests: 

• If possible, one car per family, please. 

• Doors to the auditorium open up to parents at 6:00pm. 

• To ensure guest safety and a quicker entry into the facility, all bags/purses will be inspected for safety purposes. 

• Balloons, signs, flowers, gifts, food/drink, noisemakers, whistles, horns, etc. are not allowed inside the auditorium. 

• Please be respectful when speeches are being made and names of the graduates are read. 

• Please remain seated until all graduates have exited the floor. 

• Families will meet graduates outside near the fountain to the north of Morris Cultural Center after graduation. 

Diplomas: 

• Seniors must have textbooks, technology, fines and checked out school items cleared to pick up diplomas and have final transcripts sent. 

• Diplomas may be picked up at Kerr beginning June 9th through June 26th. (Mondays through Thursdays – no pickup on June 19th). 

• You must show a valid driver’s license/ID. Only the student whose name is on the diploma may pick it up. 

• DIPLOMAS ARE NON-REPLACEABLE! 

Additional Reminders: 

• You are a graduate of Kerr High School. Make sure you represent yourself, your family, and Kerr HS with dignity. 

• The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed. Check the graduation information on the Alief ISD website on the day of the ceremony for the live-stream link.
